Recently, the multi-mode set-top box industry standard (ITU-T J.298), developed and submitted by Skyworthwas officially approved and released by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T). This standard provides important guidance and guidance for the function and specification of hybrid set-top boxes worldwide,and especially provides standardization basis based on the latest technology for video broadcasting construction in developing countries and region. The approval and publication of this standard is a significant breakthrough for digital companies in promoting the construction of international standards. It also demonstrates the strong technical research and development capabilities of digital companies in this field.

It was reported that a standards preparation team was established for ITU-T J.298 in the end of 2017. During this period, it was repeatedly reviewed and revised, and was approved at the ITU SG9 plenary meeting in Bogota, Colombia in November 2018. After three months of publicity, it was officially released by the ITU, and the standard number was J.298.
